Overview & Reviews
The base trim level has been dropped. The 2.7-liter V6 is now standard (the LX still gets the 3.5-liter V6), as is an automatic transmission. Also newly standard this year are four-wheel antilock brakes and traction control. Exterior changes include a new grille surround, side cladding, taillamps, tailgate handle, rear bumper design and alloy wheels. Inside, there is new seat fabric, an upgraded two-tone color scheme and a revised instrument cluster. A power driver seat is now standard on the LX, and a compass is included with the optional sunroof.
- Reasonable price, strong warranty, roomy interior, long list of standard features, solid construction, good crash test scores.
- Thirsty at the pump for a small car-based SUV, soft suspension limits handling ability.

the lx 4x4 - 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe
By greg tesoriero - April 9 - 1:16 amA fun suv to drive with a very stylish look. Fuel economy is not bad. The one drawback is that the buttons on the steering wheel for the criuse control are NOT lighted for night time driving. Could have installed a oil pressure gauge on dash instead of a lite. Overall very nice...

Love my Santa Fe - 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Cynthia - February 20 - 4:26 amI have had my 2004 Santa Fe for 8 months now. I love it. I have plenty of room for my family of 4. It is great for traveling and shopping. Going through drive through restrants is a breeze. So is loading and unloading groceries from the back. We just got back from a trip to the Smokie Mountains. My husband commented that it was a joy to drive. Smooth handling like a car. The only draw back is when going through parking lots, tourists didnt hear the engine and we had to wait for them to get out of our way.

My Sante Fe - 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Bar20rider - February 1 - 9:06 pmA fine automobile, stylish looks, inside and out. Proud to be seen driving it and love to sit behind the wheel. Excellent sales and service at the dealership. Comfortable passenger and and seating areas on longer trips. Handles well in all types of driving conditions. Make running boards a standard feature instead of an option. Comfortable interior for longer trips as driver and/or passenger. Average MPG.

Santa All The Way - 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Derek - January 1 - 4:16 amI was not to sure about the Santa Fe. However, after owning it for over a year I am very happy. The comfort level is high, it handles well. As for fuel, it is better then my last Van. For the price and standards features this baby should be the king of the road.

Best Value SUV - 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe
By JOSE FERRERO - October 31 - 12:50 amSince I bougth this Santa Fe, always Im finding new features and excellent things of my car. The last one was a lot of covered space under the back carpet. I drove from Fort Lauderdale, FL (33312) to Chandler, AZ (85248) with a trailer on the hitch and the ride was smooth, I didnt feel back pain. The only bad thing is stopping every 230 miles to refuel.
